FREE Child Passenger Safety Webinar for California Nurses
This webinar will equip nurses to tackle the leading cause of preventable death and disability suffered by children through offering accurate, best-practice education to parents and caregivers.
Upon completion of this webinar, the nurse will be able to:
a. Describe why motor vehicle crashes are a major cause of death and injury of children.
b. Outline the state-mandated role of hospitals, clinics, and birthing centers in preventing traffic injuries/deaths.
c. Understand California child passenger safety law and 5 key best-practice messages.
d. Name transport options for children with special needs.
e. Outline preventive nursing interventions.
Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is a provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Session approved for 1 (one) contact hour. Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
